So now that the Little Free Library is up and running I am getting excited for my next project -- updating the kitchen! Nothing major, (my arbitrary budget is $500) but my plan is to remove the tile and paint the walls (orange and white in a gingham-style print), pour a navy blue concrete counter top, repaint the cabinets (creamy white), replace the cabinet hardware, repaint and clean up the backdoor, sew new curtains and find some art to hang on the wall over the dryer. The really big piece of the project, though, will be learning how to carve stone. My goal is to get a farm-style sink (not sure the kind of stone yet) and carve an under the sea image. Think a scuba diver and giant octopus or squid. Anyone know of any local schools where I can take some classes? Id also be willing to pay an artist to teach me.
