So was just religiously profiled by the police, questioned and watched. It was definitely an awakening moment of the unfortunate reality that the Muslim community (and other minority groups) face in a nation that is supposed to uphold equality and religious tolerance. I was stopped for praying. Praying for a better future. Relishing in the glory of God. Praying for peace in the world. That was considered suspicious activity deemed appropriate for questioning my motives. Racial/religious profiling only seeks to cause more tension and division, causing the recipient to feel isolated and demonized from their society. At least with this experience I can emphasize with the grievances of the African American community on a much deeper and personal level. I will assure you I will not stop praying and if that somehow makes you feel targeted or afraid of me, I can only comfort you by continuing. For prayers are what this troubled world needs
