Society skews the purpose of individuality; instead of teaching that being and perfecting the individual that is self is a worthy life goal, it teaches that individual self can only be realized through comparison and or competition of someone elses individual self. This then creates the ideal, My self is only any good as long as it is better than someone elses self We then package that up in a box called healthy competition but what that really does is create division. Since my self is dependent on being better than yours, i must prove that through competition. This competition then creates groups of similar individuals for the purpose of defeating other groups of similar individuals so that they can say that their group is better than another group. This faulty sense of being an individual that belongs to a group of similar individuals that is better than other groups creates more, and reinforces the, division. Not because of individuality but because of a faulty assumption of individuality and the structured groups with their sole purpose being competition instead of cooperation. This is a very faulty, very bad thing because one only then understands I am a _____ and not only does not grasp the concept of but will actually be deeply angered by anyone saying I AM Im not saying we shouldnt aspire to be in a group, we should be first we should not view ourselves as incomplete puzzle pieces, the tree does not say it is incomplete if there is no sky, nor does the tree claim that it is better than the sky, we should recognize that being whom we are and perfecting that individual being is worthy and the ultimate task given to us by God (or the creator or whatever you do or do not believe in) after we have come to this point where we have understood and respected what it means to be an individual we can understand and respect the individuality of ALL things. We can then see that while our personal goal of self betterment is a high calling, helping to better all individuals in a spirit of cooperation is one of the true universal high callings. This is when and why we should form groups. The group of individual trees forms a forest, that gives shelter to the group individual birds. We have mistaken our lesson. Nature is not in competition it is in cooperation and so should we
