Some people dont understand the nature of what DCAWS is and does. Some even think of it as the dog pound and dont know we are no-kill. Last week we had 6 new kids come in to the program after the mom was shot dead in her yard. They are now 2 1/2 weeks old, doing great and eating me out of house and home. We are calling them the Remington clan. It will be interesting to see what breeds come through as they get older. Once they start eating on their own they will be split up and put in foster homes with normal, well-adjusted dogs to learn some doggy manners that humans cant teach. They will be fully vetted and will be available for adoption around 3 months old. (And even though they are much loved, can we say spay/neuter, spay/neuter, spay/neuter?)
