Some people strive to create situations in which they can triumph at someone elses expense and they choose people who offer soft targets. Gentle, soft-hearted, unassertive, sensitive people who are not accustomed to standing up for themselves in conflict make excellent targets. The common mistake is assumimg that because someone is nice that he or she is weak. Those two traits have nothing to do with each other. In fact, it takes considerable strength and character to be a GOOD person!
