Some whiners have questioned my earlier post mentioning an association between our illustrious mayor and Gregory Johnson. Heres a few facts to ponder: Did you know that Mr. Johnson operated his business without a city business license? Did you know that Mr. Johnson represented that he provided youth counseling services, but did not have any counseling credentials? Isnt there a law? City hall just looked the other way, but then... Did you know that the city of Aberdeen paid the private Gregorian Groups IRS 501(c)(3) application fee of nearly $500 last year? Thats roughly the equivalent of the city portion of the property taxes on 2 $80,000 homes. Did the city council participate in making that illegal gift of public funds to a private entity, or did the mayor and his executive staff just make it happen? Did you know that money was entirely wasted because the 501(c)(3) status was denied by the IRS? Looks like special treatment to me.
