Sometimes well-intensioned people just have to open their mouths when they really have no idea what they are doing. In the spring I got a dog, about three years old who came with many, very many scars and burn marks. She was kept in a cage and is so scarred of everything that even leaves blowing cause her tail between her legs, of course she responds to anyone who walks in our direction. Rather than a choke collar, she has a clothe collar and in order to help refrain her, I simple pick up on the collar until the dog has just about her front feet off the ground. Today, a women took my picture as she continued to walk directly at us, stating that I was abusing the dog and should be reported. Needless to say, I explained to the women that she was unaware of me or the dog and she should just go about her day and if she really wanted to report it, Id smile for her picture, of course I did and it just reminded me that some people just like to make alot of noise, I really wanted to let the dog go but that would not help the dog. It just ruined my afternoon and I was so glad that I kept my cool, Im sure this is not the end.
