Quello e tutto il resto suo :) ) mi sono imbattuto in questi passaggi, che mi hanno colpito. While Dwayne Hoover listened to West Virginia, Kilgore Trout tried to fall asleep in a movie theater in New York City. It was much cheaper than a night in a hotel. Trout had never done it before, but he knew sleeping in movie houses was the sort of thing really dirty old men did. He was supposed to take part in a symposium out there entitled “The Future of the American Novel in the Age of McLuhan.” He wished to say at that symposium, “I don’t know who McLuhan is, but I know what it’s like to spend the night with a lot of other dirty old men in a movie theater in New York City. In one of New York City’s many ghettos for darkskinned people, a group of Puerto Rican boys gathered together in the basement of an abandoned building. One of them, Jose Méndoza, was a fairly good painter. So he painted the emblem of their new gang on the backs of the members’ jackets. He slept like a lamb. A lamb was a young animal which was legendary for sleeping well on the planet Earth.
