Srinagar, Aug 30: To express resentment against Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather’s statement that the government has no policy to regularize the services of daily-rated and casual laborers, hundreds of government employees Saturday staged protest demonstrations at Press Enclave here. The protestors raised pro-justice slogans including Omar Teri Sarkar Main Bache Bookay Martay Hai (O Omar! Children are dying of hunger in your regime). Associations from various departments continued to throng Press Enclave throughout the day to express resentment over the statement. They raised anti- government slogans, demanding dissolution of the coalition government. They also demanded regularization of their services. Ironically, Omar-led government reversed its various decisions after facing debacle in parliamentary elections this year. Most of the decisions that were reversed pertained to government employees. gk top news briefs
