Stand Still And See Daily devotion 30th Oct “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you” 2 Chronicles 20:17 One of the problems of believers is being overly anxious and overwhelmed by the situation when you should stand still and put your eyes and hope on your God because He is ready to deliver in times of hardship. God is saying: sit down; let Me handle it. Human beings are used to taking matters into their hands so they have not learnt to sit still and be calm. Ephesians.2:6 says “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. Did God not say cast your cares on Him? You are to throw it on God because you are not designed to carry it. Give it to God; He has the authority to carry it.. Stop taking laws into your hands. Stop worrying about those things, your Father knows you need them. And He is more than able. In Mark.4:35, Jesus said to them, let us go over unto the other side. It was Jesus’ idea for them to cross over to the other side yet trouble still came. The fact that God led you into that job, business or marriage does not mean that you will not face challenges. Mathew 4:1 makes it clear that Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. So the storm came but thank God the Monarch of the universe was there. The Imperial Majesty was in the troubled boat, and He was neither ruffled nor worried, why? Because He knew it was not a big deal. He simply rebuked the wind and the storm seized. Child of God, you can do same. Learn to stay still and trust in the absoluteness of God to deliver you from every challenge you may be facing. To stand still is to trust in the supremacy of the Most High and His ability to deliver you and see you through in every area of your life. I know you will not be disappointed because your God is on the throne. He is still in charge. He is not ever dismayed. He is in total control. The Psalmist said, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth”. We experience God’s salvation when we are still. God is still God and will always be God. Your situation and circumstance will never change Him. Leave Him in His Excellency. Don’t try to play God. Let Him be God in that circumstance facing you today and you will see His salvation. Further reading: Exodus 14:1-14 Daily Bible Reading: Morning: Jeremiah 20-21; Evening 2 Timothy 4
