Strange Doctrines What did this man Paul believe about God? It - TopicsExpress

Strange Doctrines What did this man Paul believe about God? It would seem to me that he must have believed what he wrote! Romans 8:28 is a verse that Paul wrote that others have used to establish a strange doctrine in the church. When I say strange, I mean that it causes us much doctrinal confusion because it affects what the average Christian believes to be fundamental truth. I say strange, because in the light of redemption and in the light of truth that Paul himself taught in other places, these modern doctrines that imply that there are no absolutes. To me this seems very strange. Remember, the book of James teaches that with God there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. He is not wishy washy! What is fundamental to the Christian faith? First of all we believe that there is one God, who created all things, who made a perfect planet to be the home for His greatest creation, mankind; that man was righteous and had dominion in the earth over all of the other kingdoms in this world until the day that they yielded to the temptation of the devil and disobeyed Gods command. At that point, they became sinful and needed redemption. We believe that God is Love and that He so loved the world that He sent His only Son into the world to become the Substitute for all of mankind. HeWe believe that He bore the sins of the world on the cross. He was the one and only sacrifice for sin. By His sacrifice and by the shedding of His blood He purchased our redemption from the hand of the enemy. We believe that His blood cleansed us from all sin and gave us a standing of righteousness before God; that with that standing of righteousness, we now hold a place of dominion over Satan and his kingdom. We believe that Jesus established a New Covenant with God; that we have rights and privileges, and that God will keep the promises that He made in that covenant. We believe that we have a right to pray, on the basis of His covenant, and to change things through prayer; that God honors faith in His Word and will fulfill His promises. (At least this is what I thought we embraced as truth and believed as Christians.) But when I hear what some preachers and teachers say in their sermons, I hear a completely different message. I am not confused by what they teach because I believe in the finished work of the cross. But I think that many are confused by what is being taught because their hearts are not established in the truth of redemption. We are taught that, Whatever you are going through is working together for your good. The unspoken message in this statement is that the unpleasant or bad thing that you are going through is being allowed by God and that He is using it for some divine purpose to work some unknown, undefinable thing into our lives. I really dont know what these people are actually trying to say, but when they say it, they sure try to make it sound very spiritual!
