Success with Animal Cruelty Case!!! Ahimsa Rescue Foundation had success in the court room this week with an animal cruelty case. Ahimsa Rescue Foundation was called upon by the Sequoyah County Sheriffs department in June, 2014 to help with an animal cruelty case where dogs were forced to live in a deplorable condition locked in a pen fill with liquid feces, urine and mud. The smell was breath taking. The conditions these innocent animals were found were deplorable, unacceptable, cruel conditions that the worst criminals would not undergo as punishment. Ahimsa Rescue Foundation provided the District Attorney with photographs, videos and a detailed report of the each animals health condition and request the Judge to rule that the guardian of these animals could never again own any kind of an animal due to her history, continued and current neglect of animals found in her care. On December 23, 2014, at the Sequoyah County Court House, it was ruled that the guardian of these animals, Mary Beth Lawson, cannot have any kind of animal or be in possession of any kind of animal for 5 years. Ahimsa Rescue Foundation would like to thank the Sequoyah county sheriffs department, the Deputies who were involved with this case, the District Attorney who handled this case and the Sequoyah county court system for taking animal cruelty seriously. Thank you from everyone at Ahimsa Rescue Foundation for helping homeless animals!!!
