IT IS A SYSTEMIC AGENDA AND ITS MANIFESTING GRADUALLY THE CALL TO ARM IS NOW. TIME TO COME BACK HOME Emeka Ugwuonye > The Due Process Advocates (DPA) BOKO HARAM WILL EVENTUALLY WAGE WAR AGAINST THE CHRISTIAN CITIES OF THE SOUTHERN PART OF NIGERIA. This is my prediction. You take it or you leave it. But looking at what is happening in Syria and Iraq today with the emergence of the ISIS, it is fairly logical to believe that Boko Haram would eventually push down to the Southern part of Nigeria and wage war of conquest against the Southern Christians. It is really not difficult to see what would happen in such eventuality. You only have to look at what is happening in Iraq and Syria today with the ISIS to understand. It is clear to any intelligent mind that Boko Haram can no longer be defeated through the same kind of military operations Nigeria has waged since the past three years. The sect is now too entrenched. It has tasted victory and wants more of it. It is no longer considering Nigerian armed forces as a formidable opponent. Its fighters are more determined, more daring and better organised than the Nigerian military, it seems. We are witnessing the same things that are happening in Iraq. As a well-trained and well equipped Iraqi army simply lack the resolve to fight, but instead prefer to lay down their arms and flee, so is the Nigerian army. As Boko Haram fighters get bolder and more audacious, Nigerian troops are demoralised. The story in the media was that the wives of Nigerian soldiers protested against the deployment of their husbands to the front-line against Boko Haram. Such is a calamity worse than what we have seen in Iraq, whereby our soldiers already believe that they could not win a battle against Boko Haram. As Boko Haram continues to win battles and push back Nigerian soldiers, time will soon come when they would be in Jos, Benue, Kogi and Enugu. Then the central government would be very weak. Then the Christian South would be forced to mobilise their men into fighting men against Boko Haram. But then the Southern Christians would face formidable obstacle. While Boko Haram men would have had 10 years of battle experience, the Southern Christians would have no such experience and maybe not be as well equipped militarily. Such a situation could lead to massacre of millions of Christians and the rest forced to convert to Islam. Do not believe it, therefore, when the government tells you that everything is okay and they are winning against Boko Haram. I think this is the time to start preparation for the inevitable. There will be serious war between Boko Haram and Southern Christians in Nigeria. And do not make the mistake of believing that America or Britain or the so-called International Community would save you. You only need to see the floundering in Iraq to understand what will happen.
