Terrell Watts had his conference meeting on October 25, 2014. Dr. talked about his progress, and the second phase of treatment. White Blood Counts were 4.4, GRA 2.7, HGB 10.6, Platelets were 239. Total ANC was 2700. Giving God the glory, honor, and the praises. Phases two of my treatment will be tougher than the first round. He will continue to receive Spinal Tap procedures to keep the Leukemia from attacking his Spinal Cord and his Brain. The new treatments will will be taking are Vincristine, and ARA-C. Vincristine is an anti-cancer (antineoplastic or cytotoxic) chemotherapy drug. Vincristine is classified as a plant alkaloid. Cancers treated with Vincristine include: acute leukemia, Hodgkins and non- Hodgkins lymphoma, neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewings sarcoma, Wilms tumor, multiple myeloma, chronic leukemias, thyroid cancer, brain tumors. It is also used to treat some blood disorders. The side effects are what we worried and concern about. For example, Hair loss (in 20-70% of patients) may be partial or complete hair loss, Constipation, Low blood counts. Your white and red blood cells and platelets may temporarily decrease. This can put a cancer child patient at increased risk for infection, anemia and/or bleeding, Abdominal cramps, Weight loss, Nausea and vomiting,Mouth sores, Diarrhea, Loss of appetite,Taste changes, Peripheral neuropathy: Although uncommon, a serious side effect of decreased sensation and paresthesia (numbness and tingling of the hands and feet) may be noted. Sensory loss, numbness and tingling, and difficulty in walking may last for at least as long as therapy is continued. I have anointed my son with blessed oil and claimed in the blood Jesus that he will not loose his hair, or contain any side effects from this new treatment. Instead of his treatment plan lasting for four years, will are aiming for 2 to 3 1/2 years, but kids are fighters, and strong than the parents, so only God knows. On December 1 and 2, 2014 Sutter Memorial Hospital here we come.
