Thanks everyone for a fantastic weekend! We had 26 lifters consisting of 20 guys and 6 gals and there were some awesome lifts flying around. We once again had a great supportive atmosphere, both from spectators and competitors alike and THAT is what it is all about; supporting every lifter get better and to do more each time. Id like to thank CAPO Powerlifting Australia - Karen, Charlie, Joe and Heidi for coming down from Melbourne to help us with our grass roots competition. Id like to thank all of the volunteers for helping us set up, run the day and pack up afterwards - Reidy, Brad, Rob, Dad, Mum, Lyn, Laura, Aaron, AP, Abby, Peter, Hannah, Freddy, Tom, Mark, Simmo and Im sorry if Ive forgotten anyones name. These days only run so well because of help like yours! Thank you to Peter Taylor for taking some amazing action snaps of the competition, Ill see if I can get some of these to upload for everyone. Finally to the lifters, both native Heavy Metal crew and those from Geelong and further abroad, thank you for putting on a great show for the judges, officials and spectators. I was really impressed by the level of lifting and how supportive you were of each other. I think I tapped a few people on the shoulder about looking at competing in higher level competition like CAPO States but if I didnt and youre considering it, please email me or Karen and ask as many questions as you like.
