Thanks for the nomination Lewis Bowser Montague I found this particularly difficult because i like so many different avenues of dance music rather than just being a Techno guy for example, but here goes... My Top 5 DJs: 1) Pete Tong - The Don. Like many people my age, his Friday evening/night show was where it all began. I remember buying the Essential Selection - Millennium 3 disc album and his mix was the one i always listened to. Seen him a few times over the years and he never fails to impress. True DJ superstar. https://youtube/watch?v=dQZF9wiMDxY 3) Mr C - So i was at College around 1999-2000 and a guy i was friends with told me to stop listening to all the commercial trance i was playing and introduced me to a much darker, funkier and unapologetic sound. A few trips to Pressure and i was converted. Other guys like Dave Angel and Carl Cox played a significant part in this conversion but Mr C was the guy i always made sure i saw at festivals and the like. Thoroughly fascinating guy too... https://youtube/watch?v=hhGyON4-IAQ Steve Le Mash is a mainstream club alias that Im very proud of, but when Im not being him i listen to the DJs that are in this vein... latterly the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Nina Kraviz. 4) DJ Yoda - Im a mixtape junkie and this guy is the best in the business as well as being talented live act. The How To Cut And Paste Mixes were so influential to me. I like how he doesnt take himself too seriously, injecting humour into proceedings.
