The Art of Shooting the Perfect Model Picture: As an artist, it - TopicsExpress

The Art of Shooting the Perfect Model Picture: As an artist, it is only possible to produce your best work when you fall in love with your art work, talk to it to give it life. Then it becomes a master piece. I even experimented with my bamboos in my garden. I treated some better than others. I talk to all of them but purposely ignored one pot. Guess what, the rest sprouted new bamboo shoots while the pot I ignored did not grow much. Looks half dead all the time. (You may think I am nuts but you should try it). I dont have an explanation. Have you tried telling the water you are about to drink; I love You. As you drink it, it has a sweet taste. Contrary to that, try cursing and scolding a glass of water before drinking. The water taste funny. Its a known fact that super model Kate Moss is the muse of fashion designer John Galliano. She inspired him to come up with collections after collections of best selling clothing design. Both became equally famous. Liken to a fashion designer, a photographer is also an artist. If you shoot objects, still easy to handle. But if you have to shoot model, you cannot possibly fall in love with all the models you shoot right? Then your life will be a mess of jealous men and women fighting over you. That would also mean you have to be damn attractive. Impossible right? As a photographer, if you are damn attractive, you will be a model instead. An example of a very successful local photographer who is also damn attractive is Chuan Do (was an ex model himself). No wonder his works are excellent. I was wondering if he falls in love with his models when he shoots them. Breaks up with them after the shoot, just to produce classic work. While I am no genius photographer, I ever tried falling in love with the models I groom. I talk to them like a friend, listen to them like my date, console them when they are down but just short of bedding them. True they really blossom and become better looking than before. As I cannot really fall in love with them cause I am not available, I start to detach from them and I notice they start to fall apart but definitely not back to square one. I have been shooting my models and I notice that when I shoot them, their pictures are just ok. For some of them, when I am closer to them as friends, their picture turn out better than normal. The issue here is, how to fall in love with people when you are not physically attracted to them? Can a straight photographer shoot male model well and can a gay photographer shoot female models well? Does it mean only a gay photographer can shoot male models well and vice versa? This is something I have yet to figure out. If any photographer have similar experience and dont mind sharing, let me know. Thanks. Food for thoughts.
