The Floaties Family Needs Your Support Some of you may have seen Mike and Marin Mejia around the pool in Poway with their daughter Avalon, she has become quite the swimmer over the last year! This January they were expecting their second daughter. During the pregnancy, Marin was diagnosed with advanced cancer. Moving Forward: November 25th their baby girl Owen Eleanor Amelia Mychal Yaple Mejia, (great story behind the name) was delivered early via C-section so as to not further delay Marins cancer treatment. She weighed 4 lbs, 5 oz and 16 3/4 inches long. Owen is in NICU and improving every day! Marin will be given a month to recover then will begin her treatment of radiation and chemotherapy. Show Your Support: The Pint Project whos focus is to serve those who have served us: Fire, EMS, and Military Families, will be holding an event for the Mejia Family. (Mike works for the National City Firefighters IAFF Local 2744) 100% of proceeds will benefit the Mejia family.
