The Go Forward Contemplation... “Now therefore revere the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods that your ancestors served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15(NRSV) Its a new day and a new year, its a chance for many to hopefully make a new start and get a new lease on life. Resolutions have been made, elaborate plans concocted and many seem ready to go forward into this new year of uncertainty and opportunity. It must however be asked; whom have you chosen to go forward with? Have you chosen to go forward under your own will and might? Or, have you chosen to go forward with God? Be reminded of these: Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain.(Psalm 127:1), and The human mind may devise many plans, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established. (Proverbs 19:21). For many these Words of Wisdom are hard to face because they desire to do everything according to their own will and might. God desires the very best for us, but He will not force His Will upon us. The choice is always ours to make, even to this very day. Who or what will you chose? The left or the right? Red or green pill? The will of man or the Will of God? Think about it, how you chose to go forward into tomorrow, into your future and maybe even into your destiny and purpose depends on the choice you make today.
