The Line In The Sand If you have been reading my open letters to voters, you may be aware of my saying the feds have drawn the line in the sand? Then you should be aware that I stand on the constitutional side of that line. I have also made it obvious that the feds choose to violate the very document they swore an oath to protect. That choice made them criminals. At this time, I can only assume this is a unanimous decision because I see no agents resigning their jobs, sighting loyalty to the constitution and their oath. The closest thing Ive seen is I.C.E. agents suing the govt. because they are not allowed to do their jobs. For a time, I was hopeful but I never heard a word about the outcome. I also met an ICE agent at a shooting competition in my area. He was young and friendly, so I struck up a conversation. I kept it friendly and kept politics out of it. I wanted to cultivate a friendship with him because I thought it could be productive in our tenuous future. I later bumped into him privately. I said “you are just the guy I wanted to talk to”. I offered him a seat. He said he couldnt even think about talking to someone like me. He implied someone in an anti-government militia type group. It would be suicidal. He hopped back on his motorcycle and sped away from me. I just stood there wondering what had just happened. Im not a member of any militia. I wouldnt know where to find such a group. I do believe were headed for an economic collapse because of the socialist manipulation of our currency and our ever expanding welfare state. This young man had apparently been brain washed to not talk to the public. Does THAT sound like a healthy symbiotic relationship between the government and the governed? No, I dont think so either. It wreaks of a cultivated, “us against them” attitude. This chance meeting validates my warnings that the feds (under DHS) have categorized us as constitutional nuts and terrorists. The phrase, “Constitutional Nuts” was coined by the FBI. Remember an FBI instructor told a class of cops at a seminar that they would have to soon make a choice........”The constitutional nuts.......or us”. It seems the young ICE agent made the choice and it wasnt the constitutional nuts. He sided with a steady paycheck. He thought career instead of country. This is obviously what Congress and the Joint Chiefs have been thinking also. Well it isnt what the Sheriffs are thinking. Im happy to report theyre predominantly staying loyal to the constitution. That would be my choice with or without the Sheriffs Associations. I swore that oath and I meant it. The founders last sentence in the Declaration of Independence read: We mutually pledge to each other, our Lives, our Fortunes and our Sacred Honor. Until I see positive signs that not all federal agents are against us, I will not cooperate with federal plans to usurp every ounce of power they can grab. I will not collect guns and will not allow anyone else to collect them. I will not be part of making the people of Mesa County helpless. If Im elected Sheriff and they come for the guns, you wont be the criminals, they will and you may treat them accordingly.
