The Lode Theater opened in 1940 with a facade to look like - TopicsExpress

The Lode Theater opened in 1940 with a facade to look like theaters in large cities. The building was once Sillers Dry Goods Store. The Pic Theater, in Hancock, began life as the Orpheum and had a stage for live performances. When picture shows became popular, a large screen that could be raised and lowered was installed that hung at the front of the stage. When Rogers took over and closed the theaters, the Pic was taken over and renamed the Orpheum. The stage is used again for live performances.
