The October 30 event featured three honorees, including Greek American Homeowners Association President George Alexiou, 114th Precinct Deputy Inspector Stephen Cirabisi and former state Senator George Onorato. Alexiou, who received the Community Spirit Award, was recognized for his community outreach events, namely the annual Greek American Homeowners Association’s Thanksgiving Day Dinner. He is also spearheading the Athens Square Fundraising Committee in order to raise the final funds necessary for the installation of the statue of Sophocles at Athens Square Park.
