The future is brighter than we are led to believe. With our over-active amygdalas, we are programmed to respond in fear and trepidation to the world and to the future. But we dont need to. Ive seen so much panic about technology taking over, moving us away from nature, particularly people bemoaning how much time we look at our little screens. Gazing at your phone when someones talking to you, well thats just plain rude. But as a tool? Think about it: we used to spend time reading books, doing crosswords, writing and reading letters, writing down our thoughts, using cameras...hundreds of different things. Our technology is simply a tool that brings it all together. Arent we sharing pictures of sunrises, love of animals, humour, positive thoughts, warm messages using our much-maligned cellphones? So yes were spending years staring at our screens but in reality, doing what weve always done and much, much more.
