The house is quiet now. Im sitting in a chair in the living room - TopicsExpress

The house is quiet now. Im sitting in a chair in the living room still surrounded by Christmas decorations and part of the happy mess weve been too tired to clean up. But this is a good kind of tired, even though its late afternoon and Im still in my PJs and too tired to eat----maybe even talk--LOL! But Im sure if the children and grand children were still here Id find a way to keep going. Its times like this that I wish we celebrated the 12 Days of Christmas like Christians did a long time ago. Celebrating Christ and His birth, and the Wise Men, and angels and all of the gifts Hes given to us would go on with parties and presents and families gathered together until Jan 5th when Epiphany begins. If so, my house would still be full and the candles lit and my children would not have gotten in their cars and driven away. Yes, Im really tired, but I really hate when the celebration of Christmas ends, and everything is packed up and put away. As one set of grandchildren and their parents drove away yesterday, Lane and I stood in the driveway and waved until we could see their car no more. I cried. I always do. As I stood there I thought about all the Christmases when our children were little and we were the ones who drove to my parents house and afterwards they were the ones in the driveway watching us drive away. How quickly time passes and the scenes change, but the occurrences are the same. This is the way life is suppose to be--one generation after the next having Christmas, keeping the love of Jesus and His birth alive, baking and decorating and wrapping presents so that His miraculous birth will always be marked and celebrated. One generation passing the torch on to the next. I am so thankful that Lane and I are the ones who now do Christmas and our family gathers here. I pray we will be able to do so for many more years to come. What a truly earthly gift this is, until one day when all of us who call Him by name will celebrate in heaven, possibly under the most glorious and magnificent Christmas Tree ever to be seen……….Merry Christmas
