The overused, overactive, and unfair incarceration laws in the - TopicsExpress

The overused, overactive, and unfair incarceration laws in the United States is by and far, one of the largest economic issues our country is facing. Thats right. I said ECONOMIC. All the money and funds going into incarcerating someone is astounding. A FRACTION of those costs could go to rehabilitation efforts, thus lowering the recidivism rate across the board, while the remainder of the funds could go to help, oh I dont know... HOMELESS VETS... (full circle here, people...FULL...CIRCLE) Im not saying any other country has the perfect model...hell, Im from a country that just executed a 27 year old woman who was defending herself from a rapist. But as the leader of the free world, we must do better. It sounds like the Republicans and the Democrats are somewhat aligned on this. Hopefully egos can be set aside, and some movement can be made. Oh. And if youre wondering...if I had it my way...small level crimes...misdemeanors...the majority of drug and blue collar crimes...petty theft and what not...would all be eligible for reform. As for murderers (pre-mediated), child abuse of any sort, animal abuse of any sort, and anyone who doesnt believe in Cher... STRAIGHT TO DEATH ROW!
