The strangest thing happened to me recently...I am constantly bombarded with requests for meetings and my staff struggles to decipher who wants to meet with me and for what...well this man from a VERY LARGE, very successful company with 10 times the staff and a kazillion times the finances of my company said he wanted to meet with me...he said that he was interested in our and impressed by our work at Julie Weintraubs Hands Across the Bay and how he could get involved. I dont have a lot of spare time at the moment being weeks away from Tampa Bays Dancing With The Stars and having just moved in my Mum etc...but thought it would be nice to have the support from charitable companies to do our work...I tried to be patient during the meeting to get to see what he had in mind as I just could not tell and I had my staff popping there heads in to get diamond deals approved etc...I had rushed out of a doctor appointment with my Mum for this meeting... I apologized for having to step out and realized I would have to take control of this meeting for everyones sanity...I said, so tell me what you had in mind? How do you see us working together and in what ways were you offering to help support our work?. Wondering how his unique charitable giving related to ours and why exactly he was selling me on it if he was here as a CLEARLY MUCH bigger, wealthier company than mine...and then it came...Melissa Johnson told me to come and see you about making a donation to OUR organization!! OMG!! He got this meeting saying how impressed he was with our work and the name of his company etc... to ask ME for money for a charitable division of his company!!! OMG....Melissa you owe me drinks...or something!! WTH?? Please send me big huge successful companies that want to support HATB....now THAT would be so very helpful...You just wait...I have some incoming ambiguous meeting requests so fill up your days coming your way!!! Payback!! lol!! Thats like me going to ask The Kind Mouse Productions, Inc. for funding...clearly nuts...#Godgivemepatience #pleasejustletmedomywork #notanATM
