Thinking ahead to Friday... while the Holly Springs town government doesnt regulate trick-or-treating, here are some common-sense suggestions for a safe and courteous Halloween: -Trick-or-treating should take place on the actual holiday, Oct. 31. -Trick-or-treating should be for children under 13 who are accompanied by an older, responsible protector. If teenagers take part, they should not wear masks. -Costumes should have reflective material that motorists can see easily. Masks ought not to obstruct vision. -Homeowners not participating are advised to leave porch lights off. Trick-or-treaters need to bypass those homes. -Trick-or-treating should wrap up around 9 p.m. -Inspect candy for signs of tampering and report any concerns to Holly Springs police.
