This couple has been saving sacrificially for the last five years. They opened a joint account and agreed to save money to buy a plot of land so that they could build their own home. Each one contributes the same amount. They trust each other, so either one can sign the cheques alone. They have ksh. 2,000,000 in the account. The husband is tired of commuting by public transport and would like to use the money to buy a car to transport them to and from work every day. The car goes for ksh. 1.8M. The wife thinks that the car is a liability that they cannot afford at this point. She would rather invest in land as it appreciates in value. There is a good land deal with nice plots going for 1.8M as well. Her husband had been keen on this investment before he changed his mind and decided he wanted a car instead. They discuss it and fail to agree. They argue about it and the husband says that his decision is final. He will buy a car. Two weeks later, the husband goes to the bank ready to make a transfer to the car dealer. He fills out the paperwork, queues for his turn with the teller, gets to the counter and the teller gives him the bad news. Insufficient funds!! Two days prior, a sum of ksh. 1.8M had been transfered to the real estate company selling the plots that he and his wife had wanted to buy before he changed his mind. The man sees red. He calls the real estate company and finds out that property has been bought in the name of Mr & Mrs Kamau. Mrs Kamau had handled the transaction! Was the wife right in buying the land without his consent? What do you think is going through the husbands mind at this point? How will this affect their marriage? How can this husband love his wife as Christ loves the Church in this situation? Please answer all four questions in your response. #Submission
