This has been weighing heavy on my mind. The end of last week while driving down Main St I saw a large sign in front of the little house on Main St, past Mayos, before Pleasant. I am sure you all know what house I am talking about. Well the sign said, Need dry wood, will pick up I always look at this house, always notice when he has a fire and when he doesnt. Talk to the owner of the house this morning, I think you all know who that is. He is helping the guy out by letting him live there for nothing. He told me he is down on his luck and that he is harmless. So here is my question to the Danville Community. Can we all come together and give a little of what we have? I myself am struggling this year, I have 5 cords of wood all stacked in the garage, its wet wood, running dehumidifier and fans trying to dry it out. I was thinking maybe we could all bring over a couple of armfuls of wood or take up a donation and get him a cord of dry wood. Anyone want to help out. Its what a community does for its people. Every morning I go by at 6:45, I wonder if he is freezing yet. It was 37 degrees when I went by and no smoke coming out of the chimney. He must be cold. Let me know what you think.
