This is Christian recovery It is within the Christian interaction that the forum is found to share personal experiences. The gathering together of one another allows conversation to expand and evolve. There is much to share regarding the growth one has that is found in Christ. Sharing how one is changed with another changing person can benefit both parties. Sharing with another how one has come to understand problems and how one has become dependent upon the Lord benefits both the speaker and the listener. Sharing real life experiences and what one has learned from the word of God can acquaint another to the way God works. When it comes to sharing I must be aware of my experience. I stay in a state of self examination. I always ask myself questions. Am I close to the Lord? Am I rebelling against Him in any way, shape, or form? Am I experiencing belief or am I experiencing unbelief? Do I feel that I am in Gods will or am I being stubborn? I never let the answers to these questions bring condemnation. The answers to these questions and others questions are what I share. I am instructed by Gods word to encourage others and also to confess my weaknesses. Honestly sharing with my Christian family can bring many these things to the light. However, confession without a bearing on the work of Christ’s cross and His shed blood is unproductive. The cross needs to be the back beat and the shed blood of Christ the high note of every word I speak. Sharing ones experience can contribute to the recovery of others. It assuring to know that Christ worked out all issues that a man can face. It all happened at His cross. It is at the cross that Christ destroyed mans affiliation with darkness and replaced it with His light. Christian gatherings and or interactions within them can bring the power of God into focus. It is the place of honest sharing. It is with one another that personal issues can be addressed. It is in our gatherings and interactions that we can give and take support It is in our social gatherings in general that we identify with others. We see one another for who we are in Christ. Yes we will also inadvertently and sometimes even purposefully share our character defects as well. I am not going to lie to you. Those who are in recovery (or recovered) know about sinful character defects. Our lifestyle caused damage to others and ourselves. But now we depend on and trust what Christ did for us at the cross to perfect us. It was at the cross that Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected as us and for us. It was His blood that cleansed us and keeps us clean. It was at His crucifixion that our selfishness was set aside. This is what restores us to sanity. This is our confession. This is our public announcement! We confess the truth to the people that the Lord has put into our lives. However, we are without a doubt, in a growing process. Who can say that they are not?
