This month is sensory processing disorder month. Most people dont know this and have never heard of this as it is very rare to get a diagnosis in this country. My little man zac has struggled with spd for the last nearly 2 years. It usually goes hand in hand with autism. We have lost a fair few friends over time as people do not understand the behaviour that is caused by this disorder. I have lost friends who dont want zac around theyre children and i have also been told in public by strangers that i should keep children like him at home and also i should beat it out of him. I find other peoples ignorance so hurtful and worry daily for zacs future in a predjudiced world full of people that dont understand that life for these kids and theyre families are hard enough without judgement from others. All i ask is that if you are wondering what spd is or if you know zac or any other child with this disorder please take the time to look it up and educate yourselves becaus then you will be able to look past the behaviour and see the wonderful sensitive funny side of these kids..you just have to dig a little deeper to find them xxx
