This mornings email : [email protected] Good morning Mr. Premiere, As its often said, another day another dollar. Another dollar I owe Nova Scotia power, another tax dollar I ( and my friends) are paying for your position which clearly needs daily reminding to keep your campaign promises. Please bare in mind, those numbers are intentionally exaggerated, seemingly a lot like your campaign promises were? Speaking of campaign promises, First on my agenda this morning, I would like to review those with you... ~ bring soaring electricity rates under control ( huh?) ~ putting an end to corporate handouts. ( when?) ~crushing the monopoly of NS power. ( where?) And I do recall you saying something along the lines of It is with a deep sense of responsibility and purpose that I will make certain that our plan is delivered and that our commitments are kept.” coupled with promises like you have entrusted our team, with the great task of making this vision a reality. My commitment to you is that we will work tirelessly, to ensure that we give you honest, hardworking government that you deserve. Where Mr. Premiere did that deep sense of purpose go? Are you truly working tirelessly , and honestly? Call me old fashioned but when someone gives me their word, I do, indeed, hold them to it. I am anxiously awaiting a response to my previous correspondences, and likewise for some of my friends and co-administrators of the group by now you know by name Time for Nova Scotians to Stand Up to Nova Scotia Power. There is a strange absence in our growing association, that is raising many eyebrows I am hoping that you will soon clarify for me and others ,that absence is your alignment with our quest. I am wondering, Mr. Premiere, why you are not standing up, with Nova Scotians? By now , I am certain, it has become apparent that we have teamed up with our friends and alliance better known as Anonymous. We are hoping maybe they can help us. Someone ought to. We have risen above our previous goals, in which we included looking for answers to our questions, and our new agenda of seeking solutions is taking shape a little more each day. Now as I briefly mentioned earlier, Mr. Premiere I hold certain old fashioned values dear to heart. Which is why I guess I keep on giving you opportunities to respond. I daresay though, Mr. Premiere, in absence of information, many conclusions can be drawn, and they are not always nice ones. I guess what I really want to know, is what is it that you are so *tirelessly* working on now, with respect to lowering power rates for Nova Scotians? If you cannot keep your campaign promises Mr. Premiere, the honest thing to do would be to own your indiscretion. We ( the citizens of Nova Scotia) will help you STAND UP TO NOVA SCOTIA POWER. If indeed you have not failed Mr. Premiere then I am wondering, what are you doing, to lower power rates and help Nova Scotians? This is a very valid question. Mr. Premiere, in all seriousness, my monthly power bill is more than my rent, cable, telephone, internet and insurance combined. In days gone passed I would have had a task force of drug operations with a warrant knocking at my door, looking for certain illegal grow operations with power bills like that. Why is it this is so easily shrugged off now? This is some sort of legalized robbery. This is indeed a lot like an illegal growth operation Mr. Premiere, but I am not the one who is profiting from the growth. I have family members that recently had to move into new living accommodations, to try to get their power bills lowered somehow, any-how. This is not something I can turn a blind eye to. My mother was freezing in her own apartment. She is a senior resident, life long tax payer in this province. While I am grateful to live in a Country that helps me to care for my children with the Child Tax Benefits, what good is this money, which is not even enough to cover my power bill. How does this help me with milk, diapers, and the overall costs of being a Mother? My child tax benefit is constantly raped by the cost of electricity. This does not make for a Happy Nova Scotian. It is the season to be merry in Nova Scotia, and though I am trying , it is hard to be merry when I am terrified to turn on the Christmas lights. Yes, Mr. Premiere, terrified. Terrified of coming home one day and finding a disconnection notice on my door like many of friends are receiving daily. Do you realize how many Nova Scotians, have been receiving fabricated power bills? How is it someone can be away from thier home for 3 months, and return back to a higher power bill then when they were home? These things are highly questionable, and most worthy of investigation and answers. And Mr. Premiere, there are MANY, MANY, Nova Scotians lined up to share their personal gouging stories. Here is something I dont understand Mr. Premiere and maybe you can help me with this... Over the last 3 years, my power bill has increased by nearly %75 , yet the approved increases were only %9. This is 3rd grade math Mr. Premiere, and it is not adding up. Call me mathematically challenged but am I missing something? There are many, many, other Nova Scotians who seem to suffering from inexplicable phantom casper the not so friendly ghost power charges, and we are ALL looking for some explanations from Nova Scotia power and not finding them. (Hint hint, a little help would go a long ways). Mr. Premiere, I am STILL looking forward to hearing back from you. I hope your holidays are shaping up a little better than mine. May I remind you Mr. Premiere, people are going hungry, people are going without Christmas gifts for their children, here, right here, in Nova Scotia. And I am holding you to your campaign promises . Many Blessings, Nicole States
