This week Tatiana and Gilly, two of the rabbits that we rescued - TopicsExpress

This week Tatiana and Gilly, two of the rabbits that we rescued from experimentation, died suddenly in the night without any warning. They were both extremely thin but other than that they seemed happy, hopping around the sanctuary, enjoying their freedom for the first time in 2 1/2 years. With the two of them passing so suddenly we knew something else must be going on, so we took Emsie, one of the other girls, straight to the vet as she was also worryingly thin and we had a feeling that it was all connected. The vets found that Emsie has severe liver damage and was almost certain that Tatiana and Gilly were suffering from the same problem. The vet believes that this liver damage is most likely the cause of toxicity from their life of experimentation. These poor rabbits have been subjected to unthinkable cruelty and now their fragile bodies are paying the price. Emsies prognosis is not good. There is no conventional medicine available to help reverse the damage done to her liver. We are going to try to offer her all the supportive care we can, but what we really need to do now is send Emsies blood to Barcelona for further testing to check for any more serious diseases that could put the other rabbits at risk, as the liver damage may just be part of a bigger problem. Before we can send the blood for more testing we desperately need your help. Please make a donation here to help Emsie and to help keep the other rabbits safe - minovalleyfarmsanctuary.org/en/donate/
