This weekend Planet Alaska has been featuring Melody Anne Leasks subsistence life in Metlakatla, Alaska. Here are some photos depicting a variety of ways in which salmon and seaweed are prepared. Thank you! 1st photo: Fresh out of the dehydrator, salmon lox and dehydrated salmon in the white shell bowl. 2nd photo: Seaweed, smoked salmon, bacon rice balls served over a tray of roasted seaweed. One of our family favorites! 3rd photo: Ive been slaying salmon for over 35 years, and I like to mix it up a little. I place the sliced garlic in the jar, layer it with sliced jalapeños, and I add 1 tablespoon of olive oil before I add the smoked salmon.
