This whole moving thing after 50, ugh!!!!! It was such a long process. We sent a small uHaul trailer full of stuff home with Corey Griffin and Krista Griffin before Christmas, packed for days and days and days, took a uhaul trailer full to the dump, put some by the road for neighbors, took a trailer full to Habitat for Humanitys Restore and another trailer load to Hampton, then packed some more. It is crazy how much stuff you discover you have when you try to pack it all. The funny thing is I gave away all my groceries ( tired of packing;)) and now everyday I have to run out to buy more..... the basics like baking soda, cornstarch ........... BUT THANKS to our many friends we finally got the house packed up and were on the road by 4:30 New years eve day. Thank you Jennifer Seely and Shawn Seely, Jon Lenton, Kathleen Lenton, Dave Lenton, Jesse Lenton, Brent Cummings ( Jennifer Soper Cummings hubby), Ryan Griffin and his buddies Nick and Noah, Pat Collins and Carolyn R. Turner Myers. without you guys I would have lost it, no seriously!!!!!! The weeks leading up to the big day were very hard for me as I met with many dear friends and said goodbye....... poor Mike Griffin....... Im sure he was wondering how I was going to cope but on the day of departure I was ready and willing;) We had a few glitches as we prepared to tow bessy ( our old Corolla) behind the UHaul but with some creative thinking ( a bucket of coals from the woodstove to unthaw the straps... my idea!....see hun, once in a while I do have good ideas) and all our fingers present and accounted for ( a story for another day) we were ready. First stop, Esso for gas and subway sandwich for on the road. wooohooo!!!! But wait that guy at the other pump is giving us a shake of his head........ Ah oh that doesnt smell good:( Smells like burning...... rubber????? Dont worry it was just the emergency brake on old Bessy..... sorry hun.... my bad! I said I had some good ideas, not all good ideas.
