Thought for Today - Faith or Fear - Part 1 This week we will discuss faith and fear – something that everybody has experienced. Maybe fear is trying something new, but people are afraid of the unknown. Possibly, fear is somebody telling you that you cannot do something. Or, maybe it is trying something that we have attempted before, but are scared of failure. You fill in the blanks. And, whatever it is, it is stopping progress from what God has for you. Before I begin telling my challenges to communicate effectively, I would like to quote Joshua 1:6-9 - a passage about faith and of how to achieve it and to maintain it in our lives. It says, “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them.” Joshua 1:6. It is as though God cannot emphasize the point enough as He says three times to Joshua be strong and courageous. It is in verses 6,7 and 9. In fact, in verse 7, it says to “be very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you.” We get the picture that we have to be strong, not in ourselves, but in the Lords power, and might to defeat the enemy, whether it is an addiction or just kicking back in our Christianity. No! God wants His people to take an aggressive stand in the things that causes us to stumble so that we can walk forward in our calling that He has for each of us.
