Three Sands oil field south of Tonkawa. This photo claims it was near Perry, which was true, but it was actually closest to Tonkawa. The town of Three Sands itself is visible through the derricks. The oil wells at Three Sands were very dense due to the number of producing layers, or sands. In the end, there were 7 producing layers if I remember correctly, though at the time the field and town were named, there were three.
