Thursday Prayer Program Topic: Overcoming Uncertainties & Insecurity. Texts: Philippians 4 vs 6-9. Romans 5 vs 1-5, Hebrew 4 vs 12. Confessions: I may not know the shape and stamina of tomorrow but Im serving a God that is the owner of tomorrow. I may not know the mood of the hour to come but my God is able to travel into my future before I get there and make me a winner and overtaker at all times in Jesus name. Amen. Exhortation: Todays world is as slippery as an eel. Nothing is certain again. The Bible calls this period perilous times, it is a time of cloudiness and darkness. King David may have seen this period ahead when he described an experience in Psalm 23 vs 4 as passing through the valley of shadow of death. This aptly describes the uncertainties of this epoch in history. God also prepared our minds for this period when in 2 Timothy vs 1- 9, He took us through what would be the character of the last days. Specifically, in vs 2-5; the Almighty God reeled out what the end time would look like. According to the scriptures: ..Men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, unthankful , unholy; without natural affections, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good......... The list seems endless. As a matter of fact, uncertainties and insecurity are the only certainties of today. As a result of this, health situations are getting worsened, suicide rates are rising, marriages are crashing; businesses are floundering; anxiety is mounting, worry is getting intense and the future looks too ominous for many people. All these need not be. God commanded us against anxiety and worry in Philippians 4 vs 6 thus: Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. Without God, no living soul can survive the uncertainties and insecurity of today. There is no better way of overcoming them than by being a child of God IN AN ACTIVE CAPACITY! It is a bad risk not to be born again at this period. No man can help himself. No friend can help his friend. No spouse can help his/ her partner and no parent can help his or her child(ren) without God. To overcome uncertainties and insecurity: we need the peace of God( Phil. 4 vs 7); faith in God ( Romans 5 vs 1); word of God( Hebrew 4 vs 12); Godly discipline( Romans 12 vs 1) and alertness and sobriety( 1 Peter 5 vs 8). Prayers and praise are winning tools against any challenge and they must be embraced at all times. On a note of finality, the enemy may get to you but dont let him get through you! Guard your hearts diligently( Prov 4 vs 23); confess your strength and not your weaknesses( Prov. 13 vs 2), see yourself in your expectation not in your limitation and God will take you to your desired haven in Jesus name. The world may be uncertain: God is certain and your environment may be insecure: the Lord of glory cannot be beaten by the plots of men! It is in God alone that tomorrow is real and assured and you will not lose your place in God in Jesus name. Amen. Praise God afresh! Worship the father of lights! 1. Lord, glory be to your holy name for your thoughts towards me and your wishes for me in Jesus name. 2. Father, place your banner over my life permanently in Jesus name. 3. Holy Ghost, erase footprints of failure and death around my life in Jesus name. 4. Forces of shocks and setbacks, crash in Jesus name. 5. Lord, replace my peace and the peace of my environment with your own peace in Jesus name. 6. Ambush of darkness ahead of me, scatter in Jesus name. 7. Robbers and wasters of tomorrow, Im not your candidate in Jesus name. 8. Lord, separate my life from noisome pestilence in Jesus name. 9. Hours of temptation and tribulation, you will never hold concerning me in Jesus name. 10. Palace of strangers upon my physical and spiritual estate, crumble in Jesus name. 11. Holy Ghost, inflame my heart with faith and praise in Jesus name. 12. Fatten me with the word of God daily in Jesus name. 13. Help me hold my guard against perverts, polluters and provokers in Jesus name. 14. O Lord arise and destroy tidings of trouble and battle flying around me in Jesus name. 15. Calculation of afflictions against my life, fail in Jesus name. 16. My head, hear the word of the Lord, wear crown and not evil load in Jesus name. 17. Lord, tear off evil veil covering every unfriendly friend in Jesus name. 18. Father, dont relax your grip on my soul in Jesus name. 19. Lord, break evil ring constructed around my life in Jesus name. 20. Repair and re-fire my spiritual pipe in Jesus name. 21. Thank you Lord for sitting upon the throne of my life in Jesus name.
