Tickets are still available for featured events that will take place Friday Nov. 8 as part of the fourth annual BronzeLens Film Festival (BronzeLens). Day two of the five-day festival will include the BronzeLens Women SuperStars Luncheon, a Monologue Slam with John Singleton, the HBO presentation of Whoopi Goldberg Presents Moms Mabley, and Steve Harvey Live - The Grand Finale. The BronzeLens Women SuperStar Luncheon will be hosted by former television news anchor, Monica Pearson, and honors: Anna Maria Horsford (Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas, Friday); actress and wife of Samuel L. Jackson, LaTanya Richardson Jackson ( The Fighting Temptations); actress, Mahira Kakkar (Hank and Asha); retired Coca Cola executive Ingrid Saunders Jones; producer, Issa Rae (Awkward Black Girl); producer and wife of Spike Lee, Tonya Lewis Lee (“The Watsons Go to Birmingham”); producer, Valerie Benning Barney (Shaquille O’Neal’s All Star Comedy Jam,); costumers Mabel and Shilla Benning; and actor and director, Kasi Lemmon (Black Nativity, Eve’s Bayou). The luncheon will be held in the Atrium Ballroom at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, 265 Peachtree Center Avenue, NE. Red Carpet arrivals begin at 10:45 am and the luncheon starts at 12:00 noon. These honorees demonstrate the diverse areas where women excel in the entertainment business,” said Kathleen Bertrand, executive producer of the BronzeLens Film Festival. “From November 6-10 the BronzeLens will offer an array of expert panels, workshops, domestic and international film screenings, and signature events that reflect Atlanta’s unique position as the Film Capital of the South.” In addition to screening 44 films representing the United States, Africa, Canada and South America, BronzeLens highlights include: a talk back with Alice Walker after screening “Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth”; a talk back with director Nelson George after screening “Finding the Funk”; a discussion on social change issues following the Cinema and Social Justice films; an intensive acting session with casting director Kim Hardin; a discussion of the role of makeup artistry in filmmaking; and a discussion of how to get a job in film production. There is also an encore presentation of legendary casting director and producer Reuben Cannon’s, The Producers Roundtable” a groundbreaking session that brings together high-level entertainment executives to share their strategies for producing successful film and television projects. Participating producers include Jeff Clanagan, David Talbert, Lyn Talbert and Paul Hall. Red Carpet events include the Atlanta debut of “Black Nativity” followed by a conversation with director Kasi Lemmon and actors Tyrese Gibson and Jacob Latimore; the BronzeLens Awards Show; and a screening of The Best Man Holiday followed by a talk back with film director, Malcolm D.
