To all Our Honored Guests, It is indeed extremely sad to hear that the Quality Inn at General Lee’s Headquarters will be closing December 31, 2014. The historic value of this property as seen through the eyes of the Civil War Trust and the Gettysburg Foundation is warranted. As most of you already know, we are located on Hallowed Ground which is expected to be returned to the state it was on July 1, 1863. The Battle of Gettysburg is our nation’s most historical event and should always be memorialized for the remainder of history. This is what has brought most of you to the Quality Inn at General Lee’s Headquarters. Yet, most importantly, there is also another historic aspect related to the Quality Inn that has embraced its 74 years, it is you, our Honored Guests. For most of you, your patronage to the Quality Inn spans over generations. In addition, you have graced us by spending your special family events here. These include Family Reunions, Anniversaries, Weddings, and Family Vacations. There are even some of you who call this “My Home away from Home”. Over the years, we have tried our best to insure your stay with us is a most memorable one and we hope and pray we have succeeded. You have contributed to the success of this property by sharing your compliments that have been posted over the years, your recommendations to others, and your continued return. My entire staff continues to provide the best possible service to all our guests and with the hope of you returning but also with the hope that you will always carry fond memories of your stay with us. As the General Manager, I have never been blessed so much to have such wonderful employees as well as wonderful guests. It continues to be an honor and privilege to be accompanied by so many fantastic people whether they are employees or especially our guests. It deeply saddens all of us that this special bond at the Quality Inn will end. However, memories can never be forgotten, and I hope and pray that each and every one of our guests will also carry these memories as well. Sincerely, Lou Murray General Manager
