To all my atlanta friends: I just woke up to find that the whole city is practically shut down. People are still stranded on highways because the snow/salt trucks cant get there. Its starting to get super cold and freeze the roads. I am very glad to see that most of my friends/family are home safe. If you are, please consider opening up your home to those who are stranded and need shelter for the night. Im sure you would want others to do it if you, or your loved ones, were stranded somewhere. Here is some info I found: SnowedOutAltanta Facebook (just search for them on the search bar): ***HELPERS AND OFFERS OF SHELTER...A map has been created for people to offer shelter and pin their marker. (Special thanks to Jelena Crawford.) This may make it easier for those stranded to find shelter. 1. Click on the following link: bit.ly/SnowedOutAtl 2. Type your street address or closest intersection (e.g., Main St. at Elm Street) into the search box and click on the magnifying glass. 3. Click on the lime green marker with your mouse. 4. Click on Add to Map 5. Click on the (now) RED marker again, then click on the pencil to Edit. 6. Type your contact info and offer of shelter, or paste your FB profile hyperlink or the link to the thread in which you are offering help into the larger text box. 7. Click Save 8. Once you are full for the night, please remove your marker. ***NEED HELP OR SHELTER? Click on the map link to find shelter or aid closest to you. You must click on the red markers in order to find contact info and details.
