To all of my friends in the retail business, and real estate, too: I think the "summer slump" is over. Traffic to alanbestbuys yesterday following our TV show was the highest since May and we set records for number of page views per minute (21 page views per minute) and new visitors per second (2 new visitors per second). Most traffic went to pages for big ticket items including appliances, furniture, computers, home remodeling, jewelry. What is significant is that we did not have any advertisers for furniture or jewelry yesterday -- and still the web visitors went looking for those items. I think it means a stronger economy ahead.
