To all the parents of Bodedern primary school:- I had a phone call to go to get Osian from school today, he has blister like spots on his hands and feet. After struggling to get him an appointment at the surgery, we were told he has hand,foot & mouth disease. Ive been told by the GP Osian can go to school providing he is ok in himself even though it will spread. Ive phoned the school, the school said the same! I was told there are 3 other pupils among the school with it (I was not aware of this until today) Im not sending Osian to school so others can get it! Just want you all to know, as parents I think its only right we know! These blister spots have spread and some are painful. No cream can be given, only calpol. Keep an eye out if your child has a high temp or sore throat as these are one of the first symptoms. Spots appear small and red under the skin until they spread & become like blisters. I cant send Osh to school knowing others can get it (let alone the discomfort of walking and using his hands) wish others could have done the same :-( poor boy....xx
