Today I watched a program at Discovery channel. Invention of car and evaluation of it showed step by step. It is said that fire and wheel are the keys of modern human society. Here comes a question. Who invented wheel? Historians dont know who is the inventor of wheel. The oldest wheel is founded at Mesopotamia and is believed to be over fifty-five hundred years old. Early wheels were simple wooden disks with a hole for the axle. Gradually the spoked wheels were invented. They were used to move vehicles. In 1888 John Dunlop invented the air-filled or pneumatic tires which were used for bi-cycles. Later strong rubber tires are made and used for cars which were pulled mainly by horses. In 1885 a german engine and car designer Karl Friedrich Benz invented first automobile powered by an internal combustion engine along with his wife Bertha Benz, after 20 years of hard work. In ancient time it was said that, auto-puling cars(without horses) are devils vehicle. So, Karl Benz was afraid to show his invention to people. At last his wife took a revolutionary step. She rode the car without any help of others and crossed a long distance. A lady was the first motor car driver(!!). Also she invented break-pad. ^_^ Another german engineer Nikolaus August Otto invented the first 4-stroke engine. In order to keep up with the increasing demand for horseless carriages, Ransom E. Olds created the assembly line in 1901 for producing a huge amount of cars at a time. Evaluation of cars continuously happens and now we get various colors, engines, designs cars. Interesting matter is that electric cars were mainly invented for women for its gas-free and slow nature.. :P One of the latest invention is- a car can be folded and enlarged and it will save spaces in parking lot. Without car we cant imagine our day to day life... :)
