Today and tomorrow will be nice and warm with highs in the 70s, - TopicsExpress

Today and tomorrow will be nice and warm with highs in the 70s, but then that all comes to an abrupt end for Sunday with temperatures not getting out of the 30s. There will be some freezing rain and sleet Sunday morning mainly along and north of a line from Stephenville-Weatherford-Denton-McKinney-Paris. There could be some sleet pellets mixing with a cold rain here in the heart of the Metroplex, but temperatures should stay a little above freezing for us. The precipitation coverage will be relatively impressive: 60%! But amounts will likely be less than 0.40. Another widespread but small amount of rain will move in Monday night into early Tuesday morning with the Pacific storm system we have been tracking for the past week. But in spite of its path directly overhead, it will be starved for moisture. 90% of north Texas will see rain, but amounts will be very disappointing. No frozen precipitation, however, is expected with this system in our area. Once this system passes just to our east, it will encounter much richer Gulf moisture and likely ignite a line of heavy showers and thunderstorms from Louisiana to the Ohio Valley ! Then late next week another surge of cold air moves in bringing a chance of wintry precipitation to north Texas, but it is not clear if this system, too, will suffer from a lack of moisture in our area and bring disappointment. Yep, well be watchin !
