Today as I watch General Conference I feel uplifted by the words I - TopicsExpress

Today as I watch General Conference I feel uplifted by the words I hear. It is always so beautiful and uplifting to hear the words of The Prophet and other leaders of the Church. However, as I read Facebook and see all of the attacks on the Church, I am also saddened. Why do people today believe that everything should change because times are changing? Ending Polygamy very soon after it was instituted in the early days of the Church was not God changing his mind, but rather falling in line with observance of the laws of the land. Wilford Woodruff received the revelation to end the practice because the persecution of the Saints was already so great. Its hard to believe that their persecution could have been any greater, but it was. In 1978 African-Americans were given the Priesthood. This was not because the doctrine changed as much as it finally safe for them. With segregation, another blotch on the history of this great country, it was not safe for the Church or the members. Gods plan always included all men and women. Now I see women call for reform in the church to give them the Priesthood. This is a clear indication of the time we live in where everyone feels entitled. The world is changing, I dont deny that, but the one true Gospel hasnt, doesnt, and never will. Some 1300 very mixed up women think they should hold the Priesthood. This is just not Gods word. The Church existed for thousands of years with only men in Priesthood positions. Women who claim that they are good, LDS women, who want to be able to exercise the Priesthood, are directly defying the will of the Lord, his Church and his Plan. There is very much a place for women in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is very scared and special calling to be a woman in the Church. - The only truth that we can all depend on, yesterday, today and tomorrow, is the one true church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The world is changing, but not the Doctrine. Regardless of what The Book of Mormon on Broadway portrays, the one true Gospel is never changing and never ending, even in Africa. The Church is true, and President Monson is a Prophet who speaks directly with God. I KNOW The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one true Church on the earth today. I share this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
