Today our work is all about how to describe questionable behavior. VENAL (Latin, “thing for sale”) means open to the possibility of bribery and corruption. If you are vulnerable to being venal, you might change that failing grade to a D minus. That might not be evil behavior, but using it to describe you would imply certain things about your character. VENIAL (Latin, “forgiveness”) describes one of the lesser sins; cigarette smoking, messing up it’s and its, and not reposting someone’s impassioned but misspelled Facebook post might fall under the venial category. How will you misbehave today?
