Today they placed a PICC line in Kaitys arm to use for chemo, as well as drawing blood, since her veins can not tolerate any more IVs. Tomorrow they have plans to take her back to surgery to remove the now infected PermaCath (grrrrrrr). I understand accidents happen, but when there were caps left over after the first surgery, did no one question where they went or did they think, these must be extras - REALLY???? Anyways, she is now having to have her blood tested for the bacteria and fungus that has infected the line as well as go through a full body CT scan to check for infected organs!! (PRAY!). Her dialysis was cancelled today because of this delay, but they will give it tomorrow before the surgery. She will then have her chemo on Wednesday. Understandably her spirits have suffered a bit (ours, A LOT!!), but its not long before she is back joking and smiling with the medical staff. They love her. Thanks everyone for your love and support - Dont forget the Blood Drives: The first drive will be on Saturday, July 12th from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at Lafreniere Park. The second drive will be on Friday July 18th from 3:00-8:00pm. Go to the parking lot near the Carousel, playground, water area, and concession stand. The blood mobile will be in the parking lot. Plum Street snowball will give each donor a free snowball!! THANKS PLUM STREET!!! Thanks Theresa Perelli for organizing!! God Bless and PRAY ON!!
