Today we are celebrating a significant milestone in Makennas treatments. This morning Makenna had her mid-treatment scans of her lungs and abdomen. This evening we received the results and all the scans were clean. The lung nodules and lesion that were visible in June are gone. There was nothing in the abdomen and her right kidney and liver all look fine. This does not change the rest of the treatment plan. It confirms the treatments are working, but the treatments will continue to ensure not one cancer cell survives. Makenna has 6 more chemo-therapies to complete between now and the end of the year and two of the six chemos are the 5-day treatments. Since coming back from vacation, Makenna has been doing great. She has went to school everyday except for when she has had doctor appointments. This week we celebrated Makenna and Kadens 10th birthday with a family party on Sunday and dinner tonight. Makenna is showing the most energy since before her surgery and her personality is back in full swing. We really appreciate all the support and prayers each of you have given us through this journey. While Makennas journey is not finished, todays news gives us a renewed strength to push to the end. Thanks again and Fight on Makenna!!
