Today we went to St. Peters Port in the Guernsey Islands..What a beautiful little island. The homes are all so pretty and clean with so many flowers around them. Huge hydragen plants!! Mostly in purple. We went on a tour to a museum about how the island was the only piece of England occupied by the Germans in W.W.2. Pretty much the whole war they were occpupied and most people sent there children off to England to stay with other people until the war was over. A lot of story about people on island reporting others for doing things and then imprisonment. Also, stories of starvation as they were not getting supplies and Germans were taking everything including their cars to send for scrap and lived in their homes. Also went to a German hospital that was dug out in the ground like a cave. It took prisoners almost the whole war to dig it out and then was used for about 6 weeks and the war was over. Interesting day..
